Unabomb

The Unabomb, also known as the UNABOMber, was a terrorist who sent 16 bombs to various targets between 1978 and 1995. The bombs were sent to universities, airlines, and other targets. The Unabomber was finally apprehended in 1996 and was found to be Ted Kaczynski, a mathematics professor and recluse. Kaczynski plead guilty to all charges and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The Unabomb's motives are still unknown, but it is speculated that he was protesting the increasing technologicalization of society. The Unabomb's targets were all associated with technology in some way. The bombs were often made from common items like pipes and batteries, which made them difficult to detect.

The Unabomb's attacks created a nationwide panic and cost millions of dollars in damages. The Unabomb was the subject of the largest manhunt in FBI history. His arrest finally brought an end to the nationwide panic and raised awareness about the dangers of terrorism.
